The wine displays a bright, dark ruby %u200B%u200Bred or deep garnet hue. It is powerful on the nose, revealing very fine aromas, wrapped in blackcurrant and black and red berries. On the palate, the lovely intensity and beautiful elegance confirm the characteristics detected on the nose and complement its tannic strength.
Pommard pairs very well with spicy or peppery dishes, aromas that are sometimes found in Pommard as it takes on age. Steaks, lamb, or chicken stew, will match the firm texture of the wine's tannins and its concentrated aromas. Cheeses such as Epoisses, Langes, Soumaintrain and Comté will also pair very nicely.
