Mexican hot chocolate is a bit spicy due to the addition of cinnamon plus arbol and ancho chilis, and sweet and chocolatey from the addition of cocoa powder and lactose. This version was then made with more alcohol to barrel age.
Molasses, coffee, oak, chili peppers, smoky & roasty notes.
Moderately sweet, with a subtle bitterness.
Very dark black color with a light haze & a small amount of dark brown foam.
