The brilliance of youth gives it a bright ruby colour which takes on a dark carmine, black cherry hue with age. Strawberry, blackberry, violet, reseda and rose are among its spontaneous aromas, while maturity gives it a liquorice, leather and fur bouquet, with gamey and undergrowth accents. On the palate, it expresses a great Burgundy. Full-bodied and powerful, rich, full-bodied, with body and spirit, it has a firm structure and velvety tannins, with a very fine grain, without harshness. Pleasant when young and to be drunk on its fruit, it is however and above all a wine to be kept, often for long periods.
