Cuvée Arche Lafaurie 2016 Crème de tête Sauternes

Château d'Arche unveils its legendary and confidential cuvée (4 000 bottles 50 cl), the Cuvée Arche Lafaurie, 2016 vintage, bringing back to life the ancestral tradition of the "Crème de tête". This cuvée is named Arche-Lafaurie, in tribute to Pierre Lafaurie, former owner of Château d'Arche, who contributed to its classification in 1855. The "Crème de Tête" is the cuvée made from the first sorting of the botrytised grapes from which we have taken care to remove the roasted or heated grapes from the summer. This first sorting, originally called "trie de tête", gives wines of great density and extreme aromatic complexity. The bouquet is an explosion of fragrances revolving around apricot, quince, and candied lemon, intertwined with spicy saffron notes. On the palate, it is luscious, rich, yet delicate, precise, and ethereal. With an incredible length, it is a symphony where apricot, candied melon, exotic fruits, as well as toasted flavors and a majestic roasted character worthy of great botrytized vintages, can be found.

"Impossible to spit, it goes down so easily. Tasted ten times the same way." - J.M. Quarrin
