Experts in sherry casks since 1826 Nestled in the Forgue Valley in the Eastern Highlands, The GlenDro-nach is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. For nearly 200 years, it has been making single malts of unparalleled quality, aged in sherry casks. The GlenDronach is an authentic Highland spirit: strong, powerful and brought to perfection by long maturation in sherry casks. To this day, The GlenDronach employs the traditional processes of its founder in 1826, James Allardice, and ages its whiskies in the finest Spanish Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. The distillery is actively working to perfect the art of aging in sherry casks. Its whiskies are known for their intense color and rich flavor. The Pedro Ximénez casks give them their fruity aromas, and the best Oloroso casks give them their dry notes and nutty flavors. For almost 200 years, the secrets of the distillery have been guarded by crows that try to make their nests in the warehouses. Employees say that, according to legend, as long as there are crows in the distillery, business will flourish. Sweet & mellow The long aging process in sherry casks gives GlenDronach 12 a full-bodied character and a deep taste beyond its age. Tasting Nose: Sweet vanilla with a touch of ginger.
