The historical coachman’s beer, always served in its original Kwak glass.
Savoury meat dishes, game, grilled dishes.
Mellow, fruity and malty aroma with a slightly spicy character (coriander, hops). Additional earthy and very subtle aromas of banana.
A very mellow, fruity attack, a nougat-like solidity, and a slightly spicy character with hints of liquorice passing into a warm finish redolent of caramelised banana.
In Napoleon’s time, coachmen were not allowed to leave their coach and horses to have their thirst quenched along with their passengers. As a result, the inventive brewer Pauwel Kwak had a special Kwak glass blown that could be hung on the coach. Gold Medals: World Beer Cup (USA) 1996, World Beer Championship (USA) 1998, Beverage Testing Institute (USA) 2000
Kwak is recognisable by its deep bright amber colour and dense, creamy coloured head. The pale wood of its glass holder creates a pleasant contrast with the beer.
