Soil : Fluvio-glacial alluvial deposits, coming from the high terraces of the Rhône, with pebbles Climate : Continental with a Mediterranean influence Winemaking : Selection of vine plots within ‘La Baume’ sector, on the plateau of Mercurol tower. Very low yields (less than 40hl/ha). All grapes are destemmed and vinified separately. Cold maceration before fermentation in vats with soft extraction methods to favour the natural fruit expression. Regular tastings determine when the warm wine is run-off into French oak barrels to start the malolactic fermentation. Maturing : Ageing for 15 months in 400L barrels of one or two years, on fine lies. Color : Intense dark red with bright hues Aromas : ripe, jammy, black fruits, violet and grey pepper aromas. On the palate : a lot of complexity : black fruits jam, fresh flowers, dark chocolate and smoky notes. Silky and velvety tannins. Long and ample finish. Good example of the perfect balance of this vintage
